RUNNING TO REMEMBER
The Día de los Muertos 5K and Festival is a vibrant celebration that blends community, culture, and remembrance. Our mission is to create a space that honors those who have passed while celebrating the joy of life while offering families and friends a meaningful opportunity to come together, remember, and celebrate the enduring spirit of their loved ones in a culturally immersive and joyful way.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Every race registration includes a commemorative event T-shirt and a race finisher medal, perfect for honoring your participation in this meaningful day. The event kicks off at 5pm, with the 1 mile starting at 6:00pm and the 5k starting at 6:30pm (open to participants of all ages and fitness levels). The festival, that captures the spirit of Día de los Muertos, will include:
Live music and performances by mariachi bands and folkloric dancers
Face painting stations and themed photo opportunities to capture the day
A variety of local food trucks serving delicious food and refreshments
At the heart of the festival is a community ofrenda, where participants are invited to contribute items such as sugar skulls, marigolds, and photos of loved ones as a way to honor those who have passed. (PLEASE NOTE: no open flames allowed- battery operated candles only)
