The Rio Grande City 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is more than a physical challenge. It is a powerful tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of the first responders who answered the call on September 11, 2001.
This climb is designed to represent the same number of steps firefighters and other first responders climbed inside the World Trade Center as they worked tirelessly to save lives. Every step is a reminder of the extraordinary bravery they showed that day.
Participants can complete the challenge in one of two ways: 2 laps around the stadium bleachers -or- 4 laps around the track.
Both routes represent approximately the same number of steps, making this a meaningful event for participants of all ages and fitness levels.
🥇 The first 343 participants to register are guaranteed a commemorative event T shirt, lanyard, and collectible pin in honor of the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.
📷 The lanyard is a photo ID badge of a fallen first responder to carry throughout the climb, honoring the hero you are climbing in memory of.
This is not a race. It is a walk of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude. Whether you are a firefighter, law enforcement officer, EMS provider, military member, or community supporter, your participation helps ensure the legacy of those who gave everything will never be forgotten.
